About the Author – G. R. Pidgeon
G. R. Pidgeon lives with his wife and three children in Oxted, overlooking the Surrey Hills, the ancient Weald and Ashdown Forest.
Surrounded by ivy-covered manor houses, historic woodlands and Tudor castles, he finds inspiration in landscapes steeped in history and mystery.
At weekends, he can often be found exploring forgotten corners of ancient parish churches, deciphering faded gravestone inscriptions or climbing winding staircases in search of secret passages.
G. R. Pidgeon has spent more than twenty years teaching English as Head of Department at leading state and independent schools in Kent, inspiring the next generation of readers and writers.
He is also an English CPD Subject Leader for PTI Education, helping develop teachers’ subject knowledge, with particular interests in Victorian and Gothic literature and the Romantic poets.
He holds an MA from the University of Sussex and a PGCE from the University of Bath. He also studied literature at the University of California, San Diego.
During his time in America, he explored the Pacific coast in a vintage 1974 Cadillac Coupe de Ville, hiked through Yosemite National Park and worked as a runner on a Discovery Channel television programme.
