In The Mad Axe Man of Austin, Wright revisits the evidence with a detective’s eye, combining investigation, psychology and his experience of serious crime to present his conclusions about who was responsible.
Wright describes the book as an attempt not only to reshape the historical understanding of the case, but also to offer some measure of justice to its victims.

About Keith Wright
Keith Wright is a former CID Detective Sergeant and award-winning crime writer.
He is known for his Inspector Stark crime thriller series and has appeared in anthologies alongside writers including Ian Rankin, Alan Sillitoe and H. R. F. Keating. His work has received critical attention from publications including The Times, Sunday Express and Financial Times, and he has previously been shortlisted by the Crime Writers’ Association.
Wright has since turned his investigative experience towards true crime, using a combination of scientific investigation, psychology and the knowledge gained through his career dealing with serious crimes and criminals.
He lives in Nottingham with his family.
