COMING SOON: Not In This World by Jane Scott Stuart with Elaine Flowers

A landmark in the annals of the human bond.

From 24th–30th August, Love Books Tours will be sharing Not In This World by Jane Scott Stuart with Elaine Flowers, published by Before You Publish Book Press.

Beginning in segregated 1930s Kentucky and sweeping through World War II, across the Atlantic and back again, this is a historical novel with something especially poignant at its heart:

It is based on real life.

About Not In This World

An untold story of survival begins in a small town in 1930s Kentucky, where a young Black man and a white child form an extraordinary bond.

Joined at the hip, their dependence upon one another unfolds in a vivid story that carries them from the segregated South through World War II, across the Atlantic and eventually back again.

Based on real life, Not In This World is a story of survival and human connection — and the extraordinary bonds capable of enduring the immense pressures of history.

About Jane Scott Stuart

Jane Scott Stuart was born in 1937 in Louisville, Kentucky, and spent her earliest years in her grandmother’s kitchen in Horse Cave, Kentucky — the quiet, segregated world that would later form the heart of Not In This World.

An avid reader from the age of three, Jane grew up surrounded by stories before going on to live on four continents, including time in Sweden, Canada, New York, Tahiti, London, Provence and the Scottish Highlands.

She was educated at Holton Arms in Washington D.C., Hollins College in Virginia and McGill University in Montréal.

It was at McGill that she met the man who became her husband, the younger son of a Scottish Earl, who remains her literary critic and beloved companion of more than seventy years.

Not In This World is Jane’s debut novel, drawing directly upon her own life and memories to tell a story of identity, love and the extraordinary bonds that survive the pressures of history.
