There She Goes is a lovely women’s fiction/contemporary romance with light steam. The story reads like a drama series, following a group of struggling actors. One in particular, Julie Farrell, is hoping for her big break on the West End. Being in a musical directed by Joe Garcia would be the ultimate break in her non-existent career.
As she auditions for anything, whether it be for a commercial or stage role, Julie continually gets rejected. However, she shares one audition with a stunning man with dark hair. They kiss (for a commercial) and while sparks fly on her end, they both miss the cuts. Thinking she’ll never see the man again, she carries on with her day, not realizing she has affected him as much as he has her.
Zac Diaz has returned from Hollywood after breaking into the acting industry on Broadway. Though he had success in NYC, LA hasn’t been as kind, and he returns to London, trying to make a name for himself again. Musical theater is his passion, and he auditions for everything he can.
After his failed commercial audition, he can’t stop thinking about Julie Farrell, the girl with beautiful brown hair. They had true chemistry, but what’s the likelihood he’ll see her again?
Turns out they have a friend in common, and the acting community in London is tight knit. So when Julie and Zac meet again, the sparks fly and there’s no mistake they have chemistry. But Zac isn’t looking for love, and Julie has heard rumors about Zac’s amorous ways. Add to the mix, Zac isn’t as transparent about his past as he should be, and the reader is left wondering throughout, if this relationship is going to work or not. Add in the suspense of auditioning for the next big Joe Garcia play, and the reader is hooked until the end.
Will Julie get her chance to act in a West End production with Joe Garcia? Will Julie and Zac navigate the blips that pop up in their relationship? As this is a romance, the answer is for sure. But how they get there is the fun part. And bonus, this looks to be the start of a series, where we’ll follow the lives of other characters we’ve grown to love.
