💫Wrap up for 6th -12th January
Hello, thank you for dropping by for a wee gander at my bookish weeks.
I adore talking about books and book events etc. I love to know what people are reading too so, please drop your current read into the comments.
Going to add some new sections to the wrap up from now on. A look back at my weeks blog posts and a lot at the book mail in photo form.
💫 Currently Reading
I am reading Slay On Tour by Kim Curran. A fun light children’s book for the book blog tour on Monday. I reviewed the first book Slay last year, you can read that here: https://lovebooksgroup.com/2018/06/07/slay-by-kim-curran-kimecurran-usborne-steviehopwood-bookreview/
💫 Back of the Book
SLAY are BACK…and this time they’re headed to Tokyo to track down another hell-raising demon. When they’re invited on tour with a super-cool band of holographic girls, SLAY find themselves whisked off around Japan – until strange things start happening on their tour train. Suddenly it seems it’s not just SLAY’s fans following their every move…
💫 Book Mail
I had an extreme amount of gorgeous book mail this week. I really am trying hard to say no, so that I can clear up some of the TBR reads that are screaming at me to be read.
Have you read any of these? What are your thoughts?
HUGE thanks to all the authors and publishers for the free books in exchange for a review or promotion.
One thing I am really enjoying is my Bookly App, it encourages me to read more and I love to see my speeds increasing etc. I use the free version, this is not an advert. I just use it and as a reader I enjoy it.
I managed to complete my book shelves at last, I wanted a space for Book Blog Tour books and incoming review books. Plus I wanted to include the art I got for my Birthday. The empty shelves will be filled very soon with the books above.
Another new thing I have started doing is scanning my books to my Goodreads account as they come in the mail. I am working on going through all my shelfs and scanning. One it will help keep me organised and two it is such fun.
Next week I will have a couple of bookish events to report back on.
Happy Reading
Kelly x

Thanks for showing The Good Teacher, Kelly. I really appreciate it. I’m currently reading The Lost Man by Jane Harper. She is so good at describing setting and building up tension. I also like the look of seven of the books you’ve shown here. I need to get ordering. Best wishes Rachel

#bookenvy! So many fab books there! What is the bookly app? xx

It is a free app and it’s similar to Goodreads that you can log your books. But I use it to time my reading, it learns your reading speeds and tells you how long a book will take you to read. Which I love, I am sure there are more advanced features in the paid version. But the free one suits me fine. xxx

Ooh you have the new Dorothy Koomson – lucky you! The author of Goodbye Daisy is a friend of a friend and was at Porty Book Festival last year. She spoke about this book and it sounded like a much needed resource for children with special health needs.

Oops, how did that sneak into my wrap up. That is actually a bit of paper promoting the new cover, the new book is on its way. Goodbye Daisy looks like a very important book. Covering an important subject and helping children express their own feelings with grieving etc.
