From the number one bestselling author of The Notebook and Two by Two comes an unforgettable tale of enduring love . . .
Hope Anderson is at a crossroads. After six years with her boyfriend, she is no longer sure what she wants, and when her father becomes ill she heads to her family’s cottage at Sunset Beach in North Carolina to make some difficult decisions.
Tru Walls has been summoned across an ocean from where he was born and raised in Zimbabwe by a letter from a man claiming to be his father. In journeying to Sunset Beach, Tru hopes to unravel the mystery surrounding his mother’s life, but the letter will lead him in an unexpected direction.
When these two strangers’ paths cross, their chance encounter sets in motion a heart-breaking story – one that will transcend decades, continents and the workings of fate.

♥ Book Review ♥
Every Breath isn’t just a romantic fiction quick read, it is so much more. A therapeutic journey for the soul. The key characters in Every Breath are Tru Walls and Hope Anderson. Two fragile souls, both lost in their own worlds. They each bring a vulnerability and a truthful quality to the table, which as the reader makes you like them and want them to win at life or at least until the end of the book. With interesting back stories, you are immediately drawn into their world. I even loved Scottie, Hope’s little dog, if he didn’t have a passion for chasing birds then the initial meet might never have happened.
I love that Sparks can switch easily between writing a male and female point of view. It feels clean and fluid there are no overreactions of cliche tactics used. I also enjoy that there are no long-winded descriptions of setting, but what there is gives it a real sense of self. For example, the beach became a character in the book for me.
This book is really a journey and as always with Sparks, it’s unexpected, raw, emotional and at times relatable. I highly recommend Every Breath, it exceeded my expectations and it made me want to revisit and reread some of Sparks back catalogue.
The story is about the choices we all make and the roads they lead us on. Prepare for some soul-searching of your own and make sure you are alone when you read because ugly crying will occur, a big box of tissues will be needed and your voice will get hoarse from shouting at the book. But overall prepare to learn life lessons and to love Every Breath…….

Wonderful review. I do love Nicholas Sparks’ books. Your second line, “A therapeutic journey for the soul.” hooked me for sure. I agree, the way he is able to write from both a male and female point of view is seamless. I have this one on my TBR for sure.

Love this and SO cool that you got the opportunity to do this! I actually got the pleasure of being able to Nicholas on one of his book tour stops in NYC a few days ago and it was AMAZING (which I dedicated an entire post to if you want to check it out). I was excited before to start reading it, but after reading your review that only intensified that feeling. Thanks! 🙂
