Black sheep Bea craves freedom almost as much as her populist father craves power.

Determined to distance herself from her bigoted family, Bea is buried in debt, stuck in a dead-end job planning competition prizes, and using gambling and drinking as an escape.

Her days are spent daydreaming, sparring with her sociopathic brother Jonathan — a luxury masculine lifestyle blogger — and staging petty rebellions against her boyfriend, “Gray Ham”, a finance man who has all of her father’s aspirations but none of his charisma.

As a general election draws closer, pressure begins to build.

Bea’s family depends on her silence to keep ruinous secrets buried.

Then one particularly strong dose of escapism catapults her to Colombia — and straight into real danger.

With Jonathan close behind, Bea finds herself sobering up alongside stranger and partner-in-crime Marcel, while being dragged across the rough terrain of self-discovery.

As the body count rises, her fight for freedom becomes a fight for survival — and then a furious race for revenge.

Bad Winner is an epic, darkly comic thriller about family, power, rebellion and what happens when running away becomes something far more dangerous. Pasted markdown

About Frankie Chase

Frankie Chase’s writing career began in a damp warehouse, where she wrote competition copy and dreamed up prizes enticing enough to make anyone want to escape.

From there, life became every bit as eventful as fiction: an indefinite holiday, time spent helping refugees sell woven goods, chasing a volatile romance across South America, and eventually settling in Bristol with her partner, son and cats.

These days, Frankie channels that appetite for escapism into writing thrillers. Pasted markdown
