Acorn & Ink Publishing is delighted to announce the signing of dark fiction author Paul D Coombs in an exciting three-book publishing deal.

Known for his foreboding psychological thrillers and thought-provoking literary fiction, Paul brings a distinctive storytelling voice to our growing independent publishing family.

His writing explores the darker corners of human experience, often finding a little hope amid tragedy.

We are incredibly proud to welcome Paul to Acorn & Ink Publishing and look forward to sharing this exciting new chapter with readers.

Meet Paul D Coombs

Paul D Coombs is the author of several works of dark fiction, usually mired in tragedy and sometimes imbued with a little hope.

His stories have appeared in anthologies, magazines and podcasts, introducing readers and listeners to his atmospheric storytelling.

Often exploring isolation, identity and the complexities of human relationships, Paul’s writing examines the experiences, emotions and choices that shape our lives.

His work moves between psychological suspense and literary fiction, bringing together unsettling situations and deeply human themes.

The Great Orme

Paul’s psychological thriller, The Great Orme, takes its inspiration from the famous headland in North Wales.

Described by the author as a foreboding story scraped and torn from its dramatic setting, the novel brings together psychological tension and an atmospheric Welsh landscape.

The Great Orme is available now.

For Strangers Only

Paul is also the author of For Strangers Only, a collection of fifteen literary short stories exploring isolation and identity.

The collection examines the things and people we cling to, offering readers a series of reflections on human connection, belonging and the complexities of everyday life.

Through these stories, Paul explores the relationships and experiences that define us, including those that leave us feeling like strangers.

For Strangers Only is also available now.
