With a writing career spanning almost five decades, Philip brings an extraordinary wealth of storytelling experience to the Acorn & Ink family.
From gripping adult thrillers to imaginative children’s adventures and chilling supernatural fiction, Philip has built a wonderfully varied body of work that has entertained readers across generations.
We are incredibly excited to welcome him to our growing list of authors.
Almost Five Decades of Storytelling
Philip Caveney has been a published author since 1977, when his debut novel, The Sins of Rachel Ellis, launched what would become a long and varied literary career.
He initially established himself as a writer of adult thrillers, producing a succession of novels before turning his attention towards younger readers.
In 2007, Philip introduced readers to Sebastian Darke: Prince of Fools, the beginning of his much-loved fantasy adventure series.
The success of Sebastian Darke opened the door to further children’s and young adult fiction, including the Alec Devlin adventures, the Crow Boy trilogy and a host of standalone novels.
His ability to move between genres, create memorable characters and introduce readers to extraordinary worlds has remained a defining feature of his writing.
Meet Danny Weston
Of course, there’s another side to Philip’s imagination.
In 2012, Philip introduced what he affectionately describes as his evil twin, Danny Weston, a pen name dedicated to darker, supernatural storytelling.
Under the Danny Weston name, Philip has explored chilling mysteries, eerie settings and stories designed to send a shiver down readers’ spines.
His supernatural fiction includes titles such as The Piper, Mr Sparks, The Haunting of Jessop Rise and Scarecrow.
From fantasy adventures to atmospheric horror, Philip’s versatility as a storyteller makes him an exciting addition to Acorn & Ink Publishing.
