There Be Dragon by Michael Tars

What happens when a soldier from a futuristic Earth is transported into a magical world and told he has the power of the Dragon?

Love Books Tours is entering the world of Kalador with There Be Dragon by Michael Tars, a 371-page fantasy romance filled with magic, demigods, assassins, political intrigue and dangerous alliances.

About There Be Dragon

He was a soldier on a futuristic Earth, scarred by battles before being called to the magical land of Kalador to defend it from greedy demigods.

He has been told he will possess the power of the Dragon.

But power is only the beginning of his problems.

Three unwanted common girls discover his body lying in the snow beside the road. According to Holy Scripture, one of them must become the Dragon’s Chosen and bind his soul to Kalador.

Around them, danger is growing.

Rebellious nobles and assassins threaten their survival. War looms. Marriage proposals arrive from potential allies and enemies alike.

And somewhere behind it all, someone appears to be orchestrating events with one purpose: to bring the Dragon and everyone close to him down.

With his Dragon’s power still beyond his control, he must rely on the experience he brought from Earth and hope it will be enough to protect the country and the people he has come to love.

Meet Michael Tars

Michael Tars was born in the Soviet Union and was introduced to science fiction through the bedtime stories told to him by his father.

Years later, while studying at university, he discovered The Lord of the Rings, completing it in just ten days while making sure not to miss a class that secured his exemption from the mandatory draft.

Michael later worked towards a PhD in biophysics while also working as a translator. Through his work with publishing houses, he translated into Russian works by authors including C. S. Lewis, Anne McCaffrey, Edmund Cooper, Christopher Rowley and Kevin Anderson.

After moving with his family to the United States, Michael continued his scientific career in academia and later through his own biotech company.

But throughout those years, there was a story waiting to be told.

Eventually Michael began writing, his characters took on lives of their own, and There Be Dragon, his first novel, was born.
