From 1st–5th September, Love Books Tours will be reading and reviewing The Sacred Virgin and the Spurned Bride by Dolan Cummings, published by Orual Press.
At 132 pages, this historical novel brings together two women whose lives have been shaped by family, faith, power and the consequences of the past.
The campaign will also begin with a Kindle Blitz on 1st September.
About The Sacred Virgin and the Spurned Bride
Banished from Bamburgh for murky reasons, Freia arrives with her fatherless child at the Northumbrian frontier court of Edinburgh.
There just might be a future for them there, but much depends on the good graces of powerful men such as Earl Edwin and perhaps the enigmatic Pictish Bishop Boniface.
And there’s always prayer.
Meanwhile, the bishop’s niece Euphemia has not one but two fatherless children.
When her busy uncle asks her to seek out and read a new History of the Picts on his behalf, she has cause to reflect on her own murky past as well as her family’s.
But as illuminating as the manuscript may be, the past is not everything.
When the two mothers finally cross one another’s paths, it is with the hope of redemption.
About Dolan Cummings
Dolan Cummings is the author of three novels and a novella.
He also works as a freelance copywriter and speechwriter.
Originally from Glasgow, Dolan now lives in Cumbria.
