About Otho Eskin

Otho Eskin burst onto the thriller scene in 2020 with his debut novel The Reflecting Pool, introducing readers to Washington, D.C. homicide detective Marko Zorn — a detective who plays by his own rules, never carries a gun and is guided by a strong moral compass.

Before becoming a novelist, Otho enjoyed a distinguished career as an attorney, serving in both the U.S. Army and United States Foreign Service.

His diplomatic career took him to Washington, Syria, Yugoslavia, Iceland and East Berlin during the Cold War.

His extraordinary experiences included international negotiations surrounding the International Space Station and seabed mining, work connected to the United Nations and even being falsely identified as an American spy by East German intelligence as part of a Soviet-backed disinformation campaign.

Those years in the Foreign Service now provide a rich source of inspiration for his intelligent political thrillers.

Otho is also an accomplished playwright whose work has been professionally produced around the world.
