Nearly 500 years ago, a woman was burned… and this village never forgot.

Lonely widow Susan Reid, scarred by a childhood accident, makes an impulsive decision to start over in the remote Cornish village of Polherron. With its picturesque coastline, ancient traditions and quiet isolation, it feels like the perfect place to disappear into a new life.

But beneath the village’s charm lies something darker.

As preparations begin for the Day of the Haegtesse, an annual festival marking the death of a woman accused of witchcraft centuries before, Susan becomes fascinated by the legend of Edyth Legge. Soon she begins to feel watched, and when a child vanishes, the village’s carefully maintained facade begins to crack.

Drawn towards the mysterious hermit Jeremiah and the sinister history surrounding the Dipping Pool, Susan realises Polherron is bound together by rituals, folklore and secrets that refuse to stay buried.

As the festival approaches and tensions rise, Susan must confront both her own past and the darkness hidden within the village before she becomes its next victim.

Perfect for fans of C.J. Cooke and Alex North, The Bone Garden is an atmospheric folk horror thriller filled with dread, mystery and creeping suspense.
