👤 About the Author
Stephen Small has spent many years writing both fiction and non-fiction alongside a wide-ranging career in academia, publishing, consulting, and communications. His fascination with political power, his love of Italy, and his academic work in modern history all converge in this sweeping debut.
He holds degrees from Oxford University and the University of Michigan and has taught at UC Berkeley, Boston College, San Francisco State, and St. Mary’s University.
Originally from Liverpool, he now lives in Warrington with his wife and their dog, Sebastian.
