Facing My Fears at the Edinburgh Writers’ Forum

Last night was a milestone for me. Alongside the wonderful Joanne Baird from Portobello Book Blog, I was honoured to be a guest speaker at the Edinburgh Writers’ Forum. Joanne shared her invaluable experiences as a book blogger, while I wore my book promotion specialist hat to offer insights from that perspective.

If I’m honest, I was terrified. I’ve turned down a lot of speaking opportunities in the past, simply because the fear of public speaking was too much. But last night, I overcame the fear. I have to say, once I was up there, it was such a high! Talking about something I’m so passionate and knowledgeable about felt liberating in a way I hadn’t expected.

What made the evening even more special was seeing dear friends and clients in the audience. Their familiar faces brought comfort and encouragement. And, of course, doing the event with my amazing friend Joanne made it all the better.

A huge thank you to the Edinburgh Writers’ Forum team for the evening’s warm welcome and seamless organisation! If you haven’t already, I encourage you to check out their Facebook page and subscribe to their newsletter to stay updated on their future events.

If you’d like to connect with Joanne, you can find her on the Portobello Book Blog and reach me via LoveBooksTours.com.

Here’s to facing more fears and embracing new opportunities!

Thank you to Sarah Broadly for the lovely photo of Joanne and me.
