At The End of Kaliyuga

Namaste,
We are Sanskruti Marathe (creator & performer) and Malika Daya (director) of the Edinburgh Free Fringe show, At The End of Kaliyuga. Our production uniquely blends traditional Indian classical dance with elements of clowning to create an enchanting theatrical experience.
Drawing from Indian mythology, in this piece designed for young audiences, we explore universal themes of destruction, rebirth, and humanity’s role in shaping our world. At The End of Kaliyuga delves into age-old questions of destiny, guided by the wisdom of Hindu deities Brahma (the creator), Vishnu (the preserver), and Shiva (the destroyer). As they ponder the future of Earth at the end of Kaliyuga—the final cycle of the universe—we invite our audience to envision a world renewed, particularly in the context of today’s socio-political and environmental challenges.
The performance debuted in Toronto at Theatre Direct’s Forward March Festival in March 2023 and was later featured in the Sally Stavro Family Series at the Tarragon Theatre. After receiving positive feedback, we are eager to share this culturally rich and engaging performance with a broader audience at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
We would like to personally invite you and your family to experience At the End of Kaliyuga at the Bar 50 Garden Room from 1st to 25th August at 10:00 AM. As a respected industry professional, your attendance and feedback would be an invaluable contribution to our efforts to promote inclusivity, cultural exchange, and the transformative power of storytelling within the community.
We hope this show will foster stronger connections within our communities and encourage the creative exchange that enriches us all.
