BOOK REVIEW

Book Review

“The Traitor” by Ava Glass kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. It’s a thrilling mystery that had me hooked right from the beginning.

The story kicks off with a bang when a body is discovered in a locked suitcase in London. Investigator Emma Makepeace is quick to realize that this isn’t just any murder—it’s personal, and she’s determined to get to the bottom of it. As she digs deeper, she uncovers a web of intrigue involving two oligarchs suspected of dealing in illegal weapons with the help of a traitor within the British government.

What I loved about this book is how it plunges you into the world of espionage and danger. Emma Makepeace’s character is compelling, and her courage and determination are admirable as she goes undercover on a luxurious superyacht to uncover the truth. The setting, with its glamorous façade and dark secrets, adds to the tension and suspense.

The pacing of the story is spot-on, with twists and turns that kept me guessing throughout. The writing is crisp and engaging, making it easy to get lost in the plot. I found myself constantly trying to figure out who the traitor was and how Emma would outsmart them.

The danger and suspense escalate as the story progresses, and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to see how it all unfolded. The vivid descriptions of the Riviera and the high-stakes atmosphere added depth to the narrative, making it feel like I was right there alongside the characters.

As the hunt for the traitor intensifies, the sense of mortal danger looms large, and you can’t help but root for Emma as she races against time to uncover the truth. The plot is well-crafted, and the resolution is satisfying, tying up all the loose ends.

In summary, “The Traitor” is a gripping and thrilling mystery that will keep you hooked from beginning to end. Ava Glass has created a compelling story filled with suspense, intrigue, and a strong, relatable protagonist. If you’re a fan of espionage and suspenseful mysteries, this book is a must-read. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the book, and I think you will too.
