I cannot express my gratitude enough to Chloe Davies for bestowing upon me a stunning copy of The Maiden written by the talented Kate Foster. It was a delightful evening as my friend Joanne (who runs Portobello Book Blog) invited me to a soirée at the esteemed Edinburgh Bookshop in honour of the book launch. To add to the festivities, Fran from FranMcBookFace was also in attendance and together, their passion and enthusiasm for this novel solidified my decision to add it to my reading list.
