Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six by Lisa Unger

Review by Kelly Lacey
So this book has been everywhere on Bookstagram and BookTok. So of course when I had the amazing opportunity from Legend Times to be a part of their book tour, I jumped at it.
The basic premise is what unfolds when three couples go on vacation to an isolated cabin in the woods with wonky wifi. I have to add that each of the couples has its issues.
I love locked-in thrillers, they are my favourite. However, it is becoming harder for writers to come up with new thrills and refreshing scenarios. But Lisa Unger did give it a good go.
SCS6, has real potential from the get-go. The book roots as I like to call them were solid. I was invested. The initial chapters had me interested in what was going to unravel at the cabin. Also in my head, I am trying to work out which of the couples I think might be killed at the said cabin. I can’t help it, it’s a thriller, right?
Once they got to the cabin, however, it all went a bit left for me. I felt there were a lot of loose ends and it just didn’t work for me. I felt it lost the path it was on and all the other noise was unnecessary. Bracken was an amazing character that could have been utilized much more. This had the bones to be great. But it went in a really weird direction for me.
I am interested to read another Lisa Unger book as I really loved the start of this book. The character development was brilliant.
A solid three-star read for me.
