  • Capital Theatres is delighted to have this year’s beloved panto, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs supported locally by McQueens Dairies.
  • While the King’s Theatre is undergoing its Capital Redevelopment the Festival Theatre will be the home of the fairest pantomime of them all starring panto favourites Allan Stewart, Grant Stott and Jordan Young, alongside Clare Gray, Liz Ewing, Francesca Ross and Brian James Lees.
  • McQueens came along to our panto launch day to deliver some delicious milk to our panto stars and join in the fun – even our resident panto villain Grant Stott couldn’t resist a tea break!

Fiona Gibson, CEO of Capital Theatres said:

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with McQueens Dairies, a family business to support our most beloved family show of the year!

So many of Capital Theatres’ values chime with McQueens own ethos – personal service, cherishing tradition and prioritising what is local, sustainable and valuable to the community.

We are delighted to have them on board for our annual celebration of fun, family and laughter – the panto! This year’s offering, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, will be bigger and better than ever as it fills the Festival Theatre stage while the King’s undergoes a transformational redevelopment.”

Calum McQueen, Commercial Director of McQueens Dairies said:

“As a business that is proud to serve families across the UK and to have restored the tradition of milk delivery to the doorstep, we are equally proud to be sponsors of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Festival Theatre in 2022.

After all, pantomime is another great British tradition and, like McQueens deliveries, is a staple in the family calendar!

We know that kids and parents across Scotland will be excited to see this year’s show just as we are thrilled to be supporting it as a local business.”

Capital Theatres

Capital Theatres present world-class shows to entertain and inspire audiences of all ages.

In a normal year we stage over 700 performances each year, at the Festival Theatre (1,900 seats), the King’s Theatre (1,300 seats) and The Studio (155 seats) in a broad and inclusive programme featuring the very best in drama, dance, musical theatre, live music, comedy and pantomime.

In June 2021 we reopened the doors to our buildings and welcomed audiences back for the first time since the pandemic turned our theatres dark. Since then we have announced a series of co-productions including James IV – Queen of the Fight, Sunshine on Leith and three festive early years commissions, the first of which, The Enormous Christmas Turnip, premiered in The Studio in December 2021 while the second, The Gift, will play there this Christmas. We’ve also progressed our talent development strand through our Musical Commissioning Hub.

Much of our programme is exclusive to our venues in Scotland, providing the only opportunity for audiences to see the biggest shows touring north of the border, the best in international contemporary dance and the latest productions from leading local and national companies.

We support access to the arts for everyone and have an extensive creative engagement programme of talks, workshops and events to introduce and develop engagement and interest in the heritage of our buildings and all areas of live performance.

The King’s Theatre is currently closed for a transformational redevelopment – you can find more details and how you can support it on the link below. During this period the beloved King’s panto will be staged at the Festival Theatre.

We are a registered Scottish charity (SC018605) and our theatres and our programme are supported by the City of Edinburgh Council.

McQueens Dairies

McQueens Dairies are a third-generation family firm who have been restoring the traditional doorstep milk delivery service for almost 3 decades.

It all started back in 1995 when Mick and Meg McQueen established a single milk route in St Andrews. More than 25 years later, the company has gradually expanded into new neighbourhoods and McQueens are now proud to deliver to hundreds of thousands of customers across the UK, delivering the same reliable, personal service that they did back in Fife all those years ago.

All the milk from McQueens own dairy is delivered by local drivers, serving and supporting local communities all across the UK.

McQueens Dairies provides an easy sign up milk delivery service from their own dairy, alongside a range of products that includes fruit juice, eggs, yoghurt, non-dairy milk alternatives and cream, all guaranteed for delivery before 7am. Milk is available in reusable, recyclable glass bottles and non-dairy alternatives including oat, soya, coconut, and lactose-free milks. Customers can choose convenient delivery days in their local area and have the flexibility to change their order at any time (e.g. holidays), helping customers save money and reduce waste.

McQueens also deliver milk to businesses and nurseries, as a registered agent of the Nursery Milk Scheme, which provides free milk to nurseries and childminders.

All McQueens milk is sourced from farmer-owned co-operative, First Milk, guaranteeing that all their milk is 100% British and produced to the highest standards. The milk in McQueens bottles can be traced back to a local British farm that has been audited by the Red Tractor Farm Assurance scheme. First Milk are committed to achieving net-per carbon by 2040 and only work with businesses who take their responsibility to act sustainably seriously.

McQueens Dairies employ over 1,000 staff and have a head office at High Craighall in Glasgow with over 16 depots across the UK.
