The Secret Keeper’s Daughter by Samantha King

Book Review by Kelly Lacey

When Holly’s seven-year-old daughter changes from happy go lucky and talkative to quiet and subdued. Her motherly instincts know something is very wrong.

Samantha King is an incredible writer. I am a reader who easily guesses what is coming with a plot but Samantha King had me happily stumped. With ease, Samantha King weaves the storyline so beautifully. The plot is clever and as we are spoon-fed a little at a time your mind will be racing trying to figure it out.

What I enjoyed most and found refreshing was that there was substance to the writing. There was a quality within it that isn’t there with other books. The intricate plot line only works because of the cleverness of the writing. Without that, it wouldn’t have come together half as well as it does.

Holly Mayhew is a wonderful character. I enjoyed learning the back story to her life and her gut instinct that something is terribly wrong with Marley really engages the reader from the start.

The book would be perfect for fans of Jodi Picoult and Diane Chamberlain.

A riveting read that had me pinned to my seat in suspense.
