Review by Kelly Lacey

I had never been to a National Theatre Live screening before. Boy what a shame all the great shows I have missed. I was blown away by last night’s All My Sons, beamed live around the world to over nine million people.

It was a spectacular intimate theatre experience. With the actors expressions caught on the many camera’s it was truly brilliant to watch. I was mesmerised from start to finish. I don’t think I exhaled fully until I exited the theatre.

To see a performance filled with such high calibre actors that you would pay mega bucks to see on Broadway or at the West End. I felt extremely lucky to be watching the performance. I highly recommend going it was a totally unique and wonderful experience.

The cast was outstanding with Academy Award-winner Sally Field (Steel MagnoliasBrothers & Sisters), Bill Pullman (The SinnerIndependence Day), Jenna Coleman (Victoria), and Colin Morgan (Merlin) alongside Bessie Carter, Oliver Johnstone, Kayla Meikle and Sule Rimi.

Sally Field and Bill Pullman fuse together beautifully and own the stage from start to finish. Bringing to life Arthur Miller’s All My Sons. A story filled with family secrets and lies.

The production team enhance the experience with brilliant lighting and sound effects. With the whole performance revolving around the Keller’s back yard. It was perfectly paced with a plethora of dialogue the actors made it feel effortless and real.

Sally Field stole the show for me. I was in awe of her emotional, determined and humours role as Kate Keller. Perfect timing and deeply moving acting that had me in tears. I will repeat myself by saying I felt so lucky in seeing her perform live on the stage. It was a dream come true.
