I was hoping to have the What Book feature and a review for you today but I am reading the book at the moment I just have a wee bit to go and I wanted to savour it and not rush it. What Book Feature

Lesley Kelly has worked in the public and voluntary sectors for the past twenty years, dabbling in poetry and stand-up comedy along the way. She has won several writing competitions, including the Scotsman’s Short Story award in 2008. Her debut novel, A Fine House in Trinity, was long-listed for the William Mclvanney award in 2016. What book inspired your love of reading as a child?

Noah’s Castle by John Rowe Townsend – probably started my love of near-apocalyptic fiction!

The Frey & McGray series by Oscar de Muriel

What book made you shout at its pages?

One Day by David Nicholls – how could he do THAT to a main character!

What book made you cry real tears?

Wonder by R J Palacio – given to me by my 12-year-old son who read it at school

What book has stayed with you always?

The Cutting Room by Louise Welsh – made me realise just how good crime fiction could be.

What book taught you the most?

Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel
