Cilla The Musical made the Edinburgh Playhouse audience fill up with a plethora of emotions last night. Kara Lily Hayworth stuns as Cilla Black whilst Carl Au is in his own league as Bobby Willis. The fusion of these two talents together makes for an unforgettable and truly magical show.
A night jam-packed with hit song after hit song, each with their own memories for everyone. I myself went on a tour of emotions from laughter to tears at times.
The Musical really is a very special tribute to Cilla Black. In my mind’s eye, she was watching down on the performance last night and I truly think she would be content and very proud of this deeply moving and honest account of her early life with Bobby.

I did go with a somewhat preconcieved notion that the show may be a little dare I say cheesy, but boy was I wrong. This was a high-class performance with incredibly talented lead actors and supporting cast.
A special nod to Andrew Lancel for his portrayal of Brian Epstein. A heart-wrenching performance of a very special man. It’s somewhat serendipitous that Brian Epstein get’s the extra attention and love he deserved in life, thanks to Andrew Lancel.

Thank you to the Edinburgh Playhouse for the opportunity to review, all opinions are my own.

Sounds amazing. Cilla had so many fabulous songs didn’t see and some voice! Sounds like the actors have done the story justice.
