Paula Hawkins was at the festival to talk about her new book Into The Water. Lee Randall was chairing the event which I was extremely excited about as I love Ms Randalls interviewing style, with her passion and knowledge for all things bookish Ms Randall really get’s to the core and heart of the story with authors, in this case, Paula Hawkins.
Did you know that Girl On A Train sold over 5 million copies in forty different languages and was selling 30,000 copies a week? That’s very impressive and Paul Hawkins said that as a person the fame has not changed her. Indeed it has given her the ability to travel more and to buy a nicer apartment.
Into The Water is set in a fictitious town loosely based on Northumberland. With eleven narrators the novel tackles various topics including dark secrets, unreliable memory and suicide.
Paula Hawkins thoughts on the editing process were that she has a ‘day of rage’ when they first come through but in the end, she appreciates that they do make the book better.
Into The Water is one we shall be adding to our TBR for sure.
