I was at the Brunton Theatre, Musselburgh last night to review ‘You’ve Got A Friend’ music from Carole King & Jame Taylor. The stage had a beautiful ambiance with free standing and little lamps lit up with an amber orange tint. Giving the stage a warm glow. With flowers splayed over the drums and microphone stands. The brilliant white piano with the blood red roses on top was gorgeous. All this before even one song, as Kyla Brown (Carole King) took to the stage and promptly removed her sandals before sitting at the piano.
The show is fantastic with a lovely mix of Carole King and James Taylors hits including ‘I Feel The Earth Move’, ‘Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow’, ‘How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)’, ‘Fire & Rain’, ‘You Make Me Feel (Like A Natural Woman)’ and ‘You’ve Got A Friend’. Bill Lennon (James Taylor) has such a smooth kind voice and with Kyla Browns gorgeous tones they make a match made in heaven.
The band made up of Alan Parker, Alan Park, and Matt Billups was tremendous and extremely talented. The audience was mesmerised by this truly exquisite experience.
My favorite song from the show was ‘Beautiful’, I had never heard it before but now it will be my inspirational daily wake up song! This morning I went onto Amazon and ordered two albums ~ Tapestry and Sweet Baby James.
