Your Closest Friend by Karen Perry
Your Closest Friend by Karen Perry had me thinking about how easily trust can turn into danger. It’s one of those stories that gets under your skin — the idea that a complete stranger could save your life, and then slowly start to unravel it.
I was pulled in right away by the setup. Cara’s attack scene is terrifyingly real, and her connection with this so-called Good Samaritan feels both unsettling and believable. Perry captures that fragile space between gratitude and suspicion so well — when you want to trust someone, but every instinct tells you something’s off.
The tension builds quietly, almost claustrophobically, and there were moments that made me stop and think how thin the line is between friendship and obsession. It’s clever, unnerving, and atmospheric, with an ending that lingers long after you close the book.
A dark, twisty exploration of trust, control, and how well we really know the people who step into our lives.
