Author Bio:
Kerry grew up reading fantasy books in the 90s and found that they didn’t have many inspiring female characters, or in some cases any female characters! Thankfully a lot has changed since then. Still, Kerry enjoys redressing that imbalance by writing fantasy books full of awesome female characters.
Her books are coming of age stories of young women learning to believe in themselves and discovering how strong they can be. They’re stories about the power women have when they work together.
Kerry studied at the University of St Andrews where she did an MA in Medieval History. During her degree she learnt all about castles but her imagination had to fill in the dragons.
She enjoys exploring uniqueness in her books and takes inspiration from her own skin condition—vitiligo, which she gave to the main character in her Sparks series. She’s also inspired by the incredible, magical landscapes of her home in Scotland and drew on her time living in Edinburgh to create the Old Town Trilogy.
Kerry lives with her husband and cat in a small town in the Scottish Borders where there are more trees than people, which is just the way she likes it
