After embarking on a sold-out UK tour in 2024, Adult Swim and LA’s favourite funny man Alan Resnick returns to the UK to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe for the first ever time! The cult-favourite comedian is bringing his critically acclaimed debut hour of hilarious comedy that is sure to entertain audiences young and old! (18+ audiences only).
Alan’s show demonstrates a huge range of comedy styles and forms, from shock comedy to slapstick and clown, and many, many more. A perfect late-night raucous show that asks at its very heart: What is funny? And how much comedy can one man perform in just one hour?
So come along for one of the funniest hours at the Fringe, unlike anything else you’ll see this year! It really has to be seen to be believed.
Alan is best known for his critically-renowned, unconventional comedy projects created for Adult Swim, such as Live Forever As You Are Now With Alan Resnick, Unedited Footage of a Bear and This House Has People In It. These shorts blend experimental, alt-comedy with horror and unexpected turns to keep the audience on its toes at all times.
Regularly collaborating with fellow cult favourites Conner O’Malley, Patti Harrison and Cole Kush, Alan’s videos have cultivated a huge loyal online following and fanbase, amassing over 20 million views. This has allowed him to sell-out multiple stand-up tours across America and the UK.
Alan has opened for Weird Al Yankovic and SNL’s Sarah Sherman. Alan has also written for The Onion’s sister site ClickHole, has presented exhibitions of media art pieces across America, and is a member of the American art and performance collective Wham City, and a founding member of Wham City Comedy, who have appeared on Comedy Central in the US.
As an actor, Alan has appeared on Disney+’s Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, and as the voice of Zane in Adult Swim’s recent hit adult animation Common Side Effects, streaming on Channel 4 in the UK. He has also appeared on FX & IFC.
One Funny Hour is directed by Anna Seregina (JFL’s 2023 New Faces, Time Out LA’s 2020 Comics to Watch and Vulture’s 2019 Comics to Watch).
