Author Bio
A former teacher with a master’s degree in education, Ann is an award-winning author of over a dozen books, mostly nonfiction. Her latest include FANTASTIC FLORA: THE WORLD’S BIGGEST, BADDEST, AND SMELLIEST PLANTS (Candlewick/ MIT Kids Press, May 2025) and a picture book co-written with astronaut Karen Nyberg called A QUILT OF STARS (Familius, 2026). Ann has spoken on TV and radio and for museums, schools, and libraries, as well as at various statewide and national conferences. Originally from the wilds of British Columbia, Canada, Ann now lives in not so wild Virginia with her family.
