🔮 Witchy Rivalries, Spells Gone Awry, and a Dash of Romance — A Magical Return to Graves Glen ✨
🌟🌟🌟🌟 (4 stars)
Returning to the enchanting world of Graves Glen felt like slipping on a cosy jumper and wrapping myself in familiar magic. Erin Sterling delivers another delightful mix of charm, humour, and witchy romance in The Kiss Curse, the second instalment in the series.
This time, the spotlight is on Gwyn Jones — confident, sassy, and a force to be reckoned with. I adored her in The Ex Hex as Vivi’s best friend, and she truly shines here as the story’s leading lady. Running her magical shop, Something Wicked, and guiding a coven of young witches suits her perfectly, but things get complicated when Wells Penhallow arrives in town. Their rivalry is instant, hilarious, and full of sizzling tension, especially after a spell gone awry leads to that kiss.
The dynamic between Gwyn and Wells is a joy to read. Their banter is sharp, playful, and laced with chemistry, and I loved how the enemies-to-lovers trope played out between them. Wells is a wonderful contrast to Gwyn — calm, thoughtful, and quietly determined to prove himself outside of his family’s shadow. Their relationship evolves naturally, with plenty of magical mishaps and emotional moments along the way.
Sterling excels at creating a cosy yet whimsical atmosphere, and Graves Glen feels as charming as ever. Halloween vibes are sprinkled throughout, and the town’s magical quirks add a layer of fun to the story. There’s also a hint of mystery involving a new coven and Gwyn’s magic acting strangely, which adds a touch of intrigue without overshadowing the romance.
If you loved The Ex Hex, you’ll adore this return to Graves Glen. It’s a bewitching rom-com perfect for cosy nights, full of magic, laughter, and heart. I’ll happily read more from this world if Erin Sterling keeps writing it — magic clearly doesn’t always play by the rules, and neither does love.
✨ Perfect for fans of small-town charm, swoony witchy romances, and playful magical mischief.
