It’s Festival Day! 🎉 Welcome to Bloody Scotland!
First, a massive thank you to Fiona Brownlee for inviting me to be part of the influencer tour, and a huge shoutout to the team at Bloody Scotland for my press pass! It’s an absolute honour to attend this fantastic festival and share my thoughts as I review the incredible events.
Today, I’ll be highlighting my top picks for Saturday, which promise thrilling discussions, powerful storytelling, and the chance to hear from some of the biggest names in crime fiction. Let’s dive in!
Everyday Extraordinary
10-11 AM / Golden Lion / £10/£9

Kick off the day with a deep dive into the world of psychological thrillers, where seemingly ordinary lives unravel in the most extraordinary ways. AA Chaudhuri, CM Ewan, and BA Paris are masters of the genre, and they’ll be discussing how they craft stories where unimaginable things happen to everyday people.
- AA Chaudhuri’s Under Her Roof brings a voyeuristic thriller set in a perfect home that hides dark secrets.
- CM Ewan’s One Wrong Turn is a masterclass in suspense as a young couple’s fateful decision spirals into deadly consequences.
- BA Paris’s The Guest is a chilling exploration of what happens when an unwelcome visitor refuses to leave.
Chaired by Tariq Ashkanani, this panel is a must for fans of heart-pounding psychological thrillers.
The Rest is History
11:30 AM-12:30 PM / Golden Lion / £10/£9

Step back in time with three incredible authors—Eleni Kyriacou, David Greig, and AJ West—who’ve masterfully brought history to life in their novels. If you love historical fiction, this is the panel for you!
- Eleni Kyriacou’s The Unspeakable Acts of Zina Pavlou draws on a real murder case in 1950s London.
- David Greig’s Columba’s Bones is a haunting tale set in 825 AD, during a brutal search for sacred relics on Iona.
- AJ West’s The Betrayal of Thomas True takes readers to Georgian London, where temptation and betrayal simmer beneath the surface.
With DV Bishop chairing the panel, this session promises rich discussions and fascinating insights into the past.
Peter May: In Conversation with Craig Robertson
7-8 PM / Albert Halls / £12/£11

End your day with one of Scotland’s literary legends—Peter May. In conversation with Craig Robertson, Peter will be discussing his remarkable career and his much-anticipated new book, The Black Loch, the fourth in the Lewis series. This is Peter’s first appearance on the Stirling stage since 2014, so it’s a highly anticipated return for his fans!
I can’t wait to see what my festival experience holds, and I’m excited to share my reviews with you! Stay tuned for more updates as we celebrate the very best of crime fiction at Bloody Scotland!
