The launch event for Mark Leggatt’s latest thriller, Penitent, at Blackwells in Edinburgh, was an unforgettable evening that showcased the author’s talent for crafting gripping tales of suspense.

Dr Jacky Gramosi Collins, as the event’s chair began by introducing Mark Leggatt and highlighting his numerous achievements, including Penitent’s longlisting for the prestigious Mcllvaney prize.

As the author of five previous novels, Mark Leggatt was no stranger to the writing process, but it was clear from the way he spoke that he was still very passionate about his craft. His discussion with Dr Jacky Gramosi Collins ranged from the inspiration behind the plot of Penitent to his writing process, giving attendees a glimpse into the inner workings of an author’s mind.

The event also provided an opportunity for attendees to get their hands on a copy of Penitent and meet Mark Leggatt. The author signed copies of the book and engaged in conversations with readers, discussing their thoughts and opinions on the novel. In conclusion, the launch event for Penitent was an insightful and enjoyable experience that showcased the talents of Mark Leggatt.
