Verity by Colleen Hoover
BOOK REVIEW

As soon as I finished reading Verity by Colleen Hoover, my heart was racing and my mind was reeling with questions. This book is an absolute thrill ride that kept me glued to its pages from start to finish. It’s not often that a book grips me so completely, but Verity managed to do just that.
From the first chapter, I was hooked on the complex characters and the intriguing plot. Verity, the titular character, is a bestselling author who is unable to continue writing after a car accident leaves her with serious injuries. She hires Lowen, a struggling writer, to complete her book series. But as Lowen delves into Verity’s past, she discovers some dark and twisted secrets that could put her own life in danger.
Hoover’s writing style is so immersive and vivid that it was easy to picture each scene as if it were unfolding in front of me. I felt as if I was there with Lowen, trying to uncover the truth alongside her. Every page is full of tension and suspense, and I was on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book.
One of the things that sets Verity apart from other thrillers is the complexity of the characters. Even the ones that seem unimportant at first are given depth and personality as the story progresses. The relationship between Lowen and Jeremy, Verity’s husband, is especially intriguing. There is a palpable chemistry between them, and I found myself rooting for them even though I knew it was probably a bad idea.
There are some pretty disturbing themes in Verity, so it’s definitely not for the faint of heart. But for readers who love a good psychological thriller, this book is a must-read. It’s the kind of book that stays with you long after you finish it, leaving you thinking about it for days. I’m already looking forward to rereading it and uncovering more of the intricate details that I may have missed the first time around.
In conclusion, I highly recommend Verity to anyone who loves a good suspenseful page-turner. It’s a masterpiece of a book that showcases Colleen Hoover’s incredible writing skills. Trust me, you won’t regret picking this one up.

Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of bestselling author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish.
Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, ready to sort through years of Verity’s notes and outlines, hoping to find enough material to get her started. What Lowen doesn’t expect to uncover in the chaotic office is an unfinished autobiography Verity never intended for anyone to read. Page after page of bone-chilling admissions, including Verity’s recollection of what really happened the day her daughter died.
Lowen decides to keep the manuscript hidden from Jeremy, knowing its contents would devastate the already grieving father. But as Lowen’s feelings for Jeremy begin to intensify, she recognizes all the ways she could benefit if he were to read his wife’s words. After all, no matter how devoted Jeremy is to his injured wife, a truth this horrifying would make it impossible for him to continue to love her.
